Welcome and we are glad you are here! The Steppin' Out Book Club begin some 10 years ago at Hunting Ridge Elementary School in Palatine, Illinois.  Teachers, Administrative Staff, Program Assistants, and our School Nurse..all in all basically ladies who believe in public education and love to read and get together.


This blogspot was designed to have a way for us to communicate online and share books and other interesting facts with a select group of friends.

Welcome to the "official" blogspot of the Hunting Ridge reading club. Steppin' Out became a book club some years ago with our first book being The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.  Since that time we have read some 25 + books. Come step into our next read....The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

This book is like a special bakery treat you hide away so no one finds it! Ah.... delayed gratification! Many of us have already started the book and by the looks of it, this book is not one you'd want to open the day before the club meets! Author Kate Morton's new novel The Forgotten Garden looks to be a spectacular read. 
The date and location is yet to be determined. Karen had a good idea to meet at the Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest as there is a spectacular outdoor garden area.
